PRS SE Hollowbody Standard: A Stunning Electric Guitar for Modern Musicians

If you are looking for an electric guitar that sounds as good as it looks, the PRS SE Hollowbody Standard is definitely worth considering. This guitar features a semi-hollowbody design with a maple top and back, as well as a mahogany core that delivers fantastic resonance and sustain.

The SE Hollowbody Standard is a perfect fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern guitar design. The guitar has a slim, ergonomic shape that makes it easy to play for extended periods. The neck is made of mahogany and has a smooth, satin finish that is comfortable to hold and play. The 25” scale length and 22 frets make it easy to access all the notes on the fretboard.

The star of this guitar, however, is its pickups. The PRS SE Hollowbody Standard comes equipped with two specially designed 58/15 “S” humbucker pickups that offer a wide range of tonal options. These pickups have been wired to a three-way toggle switch and a push/pull tone knob that allows you to split the coils and get a single-coil tone. The result is a guitar that can produce a warm, rich tone that is perfect for blues, jazz, and rock genres.

The PRS SE Hollowbody Standard also features a PRS patented Core Stoptail bridge that provides superior tuning stability and intonation. The guitar is outfitted with PRS SE tuners that make it easy to tune precisely and quickly.

The PRS SE Hollowbody Standard comes in an array of stunning finishes, including Vintage Sunburst, Fire Red Burst, and Tri-Color Sunburst. The guitar also comes with a PRS gig bag, so you can take it with you anywhere you go.

In conclusion, the PRS SE Hollowbody Standard is a remarkable electric guitar that offers fantastic tone, playability, and aesthetics. 1. Caleb

I recently purchased the PRS SE Hollowbody Standard as an addition to my collection. I have been playing electric guitar for about a decade and have owned a number of other brands, so I have some perspective on what makes a great instrument.

First, the guitar itself is visually stunning with a beautiful sunburst finish and stylish F-holes. The body sides are made of high-quality mahogany wood which gives a warm and rich tonal quality. The guitar’s built-in tuner is also helpful, making it easy to tune the guitar on the fly.

However, I must admit that I am not overly impressed with the sound quality of the guitar. The pickups seem to lack the fullness and clarity I’m used to from other famous guitar brands. On top of that, the action is a bit high for my preference and it takes some effort to play faster on this guitar.

Comparing the PRS SE Hollowbody Standard to other electric guitars I own, I’d say the major downside is its lack of versatility in tone. It has a very specific sound which won’t necessarily work for all kinds of genres and styles.

Lastly, I want to note that the delivery of the guitar could have been better. It took longer than expected and the guitar arrived with some minor damage to the headstock. Thankfully, it didn’t impact the playability, but it was frustrating nonetheless.

Overall, I give the PRS SE Hollowbody Standard a solid 3 out of 5 possible ratings. It’s a beautiful guitar with a distinguished look but could benefit from some improvements in playability and sound versatility.
