The loudspeakers play a major role in obtaining the desired sound. Therefore, it is very important to choose a column that will not only suit your playing style, but will also enhance it.
For heavy sounds, two types of 4×12 speakers are recommended, but for home trials and experimenting with a sound setting that will be similar to the 4×12, it is worth having such a speaker.

BluGuitar FatCab introduction

BluGuitar presents a new passive guitar cabinet, specially designed to work with the AMP1 amplifier which will soon appear in our offer.

The BluGuitar FATCAB loudspeaker is based on the classic 12-inch BluGuitar Fat speaker, driven by a 60W amplifier with an impedance of 8 ohms, weighing only 15 kg.

Everything is enclosed in a durable birch plywood case and finished with the popular Tolex Black Levant material.

Despite its small size, the produced sound  is juicy and fleshy to reflect the spirit of old school 4×12.

The grill is finished in black Basket Weave material.

Here we get the connections:

  • x1 mono input,
  • x1 parallel output
  • x1 serial output

It is worth considering buying BluGuitar FATCAB if  you have 4×12 in the studio but you would also like to practice at home without building up the neighbors and the whole street.
Not without significance is also the low weight and dimensions in relation to the full quad set.

The BluGuitar FatCab is a high-quality, portable guitar cabinet designed for use with both tube and solid-state amplifiers. With its powerful 12″ Celestion speaker and closed-back design, the FatCab delivers rich, deep tones that are ideal for a wide range of musical styles.

1 review for BluGuitar FatCab

  1. The Shredder

It’s okay, but advertising it as a replacement for 4×12 is a bit of an exaggeration.
I understand marketing and referring to legends, but let’s be serious.
Whoever has ever played 4×12 won’t even laugh.
It’s like comparing Mashall CODE digital farts to the legendary one hundred on lamps, not software.
The appearance and design refer to the legend and basically I have no objections because you can’t cheat physics and a big box is a big box.
Price? – a bit too much – marketing probably cost a lot and is included in the price.

How can I optimize the tonal characteristics of my electric guitar using the BluGuitar FatCab cabinet, and what factors should I consider during this process?

To optimize the tonal characteristics of your electric guitar using the BluGuitar FatCab cabinet, follow these steps:

1. Choose the right settings for your guitar and amplifier. The FatCab has a variety of voicing options to suit different types of guitars and playing styles. Experiment with the mid-shift switch, bass roll-off switch, and presence control to find the best sound for your instrument. Consider the distance between your guitar and the cabinet. The FatCab's adjustable distance control allows you to fine-tune the cabinet's response based on your playing position. A shorter distance will result in a tighter, more focused sound, while a longer distance will produce a wider, more open tone. Adjust the cabinet's level and volume. The FatCab has individual volume controls for each channel, as well as a master volume control. Use these settings to balance the levels of your guitar and amplifier, and create a cohesive and balanced sound. Pay attention to the room acoustics. The FatCab's cabinet resonance control allows you to tailor the cabinet's response to the acoustic characteristics of your playing space. A dryer setting will result in a more focused tone, while a wetter setting will produce a more spacious and reverberant sound. Practice regularly. The more time you spend experimenting with these settings, the better you'll become at optimizing your guitar's tonal characteristics using the FatCab cabinet. Don't be afraid to try new combinations of settings and find what works best for you.

How can I optimally configure the BluGuitar FatCab for maximum sound projection and clarity in a live performance setting, while also minimizing unwanted feedback and resonance?

To optimally configure the BluGuitar FatCab for maximum sound projection and clarity in a live performance setting while minimizing unwanted feedback and resonance, follow these steps:

1. Positioning: Place the FatCab on a stable and elevated surface to reduce the risk of feedback caused by floor vibrations. Position it at an angle towards your audience to project sound more efficiently. Avoid placing it near reflective surfaces like glass windows or mirrors as this can create echoes and resonance. Mic Placement: Use a dynamic microphone and position it approximately 6-10 inches away from the center of the FatCab's speaker grill for optimal sound projection. This will help prevent feedback and unwanted resonance. Feedback Reduction: Engage the FatCab's Feedback Fighter feature, which employs intelligent algorithms to detect feedback and automatically adjust the gain structure to eliminate it. Additionally, you can use a feedback eliminator pedal or a graphic equalizer to cut out specific frequencies that may cause feedback. EQ Settings: Use the FatCab's built-in EQ section to fine-tune your guitar's tone according to the acoustics of your performance space. Roll off some low-end frequencies (below 100Hz) to prevent unwanted resonance, and boost higher frequencies (around 1. Hz-3kHz) to improve clarity. Volume Control: Use the FatCab's volume control knobs to adjust your guitar's output level according to the dynamics of your performance. Be careful not to exceed safe listening levels for both yourself and your audience. Monitoring: If possible, use stage monitors or in-ear monitoring systems to hear yourself more clearly without relying too heavily on the FatCab's speaker. This will help prevent feedback caused by monitoring your own sound through the PA system. Practice: Before your performance, spend some time rehearsing with the FatCab to familiarize yourself with its features and settings. This will allow you to fine-tune your sound and avoid any unwanted surprises during your actual performance.
