1 review for Fender CD-60

  1. Marius

The guitar had a factory defect, which I fortunately corrected myself – but some disgust and disappointment with Fender will remain. Definitely a higher level of quality control of the product before it is packed and shipped would be of use.
A minor minus for the resonance on one of the keys.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the recommended string gauge for the Fenner CD-60 acoustic guitar?

The Fenner CD-60 acoustic guitar does not come with a specific set of strings recommended by the manufacturer. However, it is designed to accommodate standard 1/4" (6.35mm) spacing between the strings at the nut and bridge, which is common for many guitars in this price range.

As for string gauge, it ultimately depends on personal preference and playing style. For those who prefer a lighter feel with easier bending, using lighter gauge strings like 11-49 or 10-47 could be a good choice. On the other hand, heavier gauge strings like 12-53 or 13-56 will provide more volume and sustain, but may require more effort to play, especially for beginners.

It's also worth mentioning that if you plan on using a capo frequently, it might be better to choose a lighter string gauge as heavier ones can put extra pressure on the neck of the guitar causing problems such as fret buzz or even damaging the instrument in extreme cases.

How does the Fender CD-60's scalloped bracing and onboard electronics enhance its acoustic projection and ease of use for stage performances?

The Fender CD-60 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar boasts superior acoustic projection and user-friendliness, thanks in part to its scalloped bracing and onboard electronics. The scalloped bracing, a time-honored technique that involves carefully carving out the interior of the guitar's top plate, enhances both volume and clarity. This design element allows for more efficient vibration transfer from the strings to the body, resulting in richer, fuller sound with greater projection. For stage performances, this means your notes will carry further and with greater resonance. The onboard electronics, which include a three-band EQ, volume control, and tuner, provide added convenience and flexibility for live shows. With these features at your disposal, you'll be able to deliver crystal-clear sound to even the largest audiences.

How does the patented scalloped bracing on the Fender CD-60 contribute to its superior projection and tonal response?

The patented scalloped bracing on the Fender CD-60 is a unique construction feature that helps to enhance the guitar's projection and tonal response. The scallops, which are cut into the braces that support the strings, reduce weight in those areas without compromising structural integrity. This reduces the amount of energy lost through vibration and allows more sound to be produced with less effort from the player. Additionally, the scalloped bracing provides a more even response across the tonal spectrum, resulting in a richer, fuller sound that is well balanced and resonant. Overall, the patented scalloped bracing on the Fender CD-60 is a significant contributing factor to its superior projection and tonal response, making it a top choice for acoustic guitar players looking for exceptional sound quality.
