1 review for SIGMA TM-12

  1. Jeffrey Cherry

As someone who has been playing guitar for a few years now, I recently purchased the SIGMA TM-12 acoustic guitar. Unfortunately, I must say that my experience with this instrument has been less than satisfactory, hence the 2-star rating.

Firstly, the steel string type of this guitar is extremely tough on the fingers. I found it much more difficult to play than other guitars I’ve owned in the past. It could be due to my lack of experience with steel strings, but it was disappointing to not be able to play as comfortably as I had hoped.

Secondly, the SIGMA TM-12 is designed for right-handed players only. As a left-handed person, I had to adjust and learn to play it upside down which was not ideal. It led to a lot of mistakes and caused me to lose confidence in my abilities.

In comparison to other acoustic guitars in the market, there are definitely better options out there. I’ve played guitars that had a much smoother fingerboard and felt more comfortable to play. Although the SIGMA TM-12 does have a decent sound, it’s not exceptional enough to make up for the discomfort I experienced while playing.

Overall, I would only recommend the SIGMA TM-12 to right-handed musicians who are already experienced with steel string guitars. Otherwise, it’s probably best to look for other options.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How does the Sigma TM-12's proprietary bridge pin installation process ensure greater string load distribution and reduce string breakage?

The Sigma TM-12 guitar features a unique bridge design that incorporates a proprietary bridge pin installation process. This process involves drilling holes in the bridge plate at an angle, rather than straight down as is typically done. This angled drilling allows for greater string load distribution across the bridge plate and reduces stress on the strings where they meet the bridge pins. By spreading out the force of the strings more evenly, this design helps to prevent string breakage and ensure a longer string life. Additionally, this process also improves the overall intonation and tuning stability of the guitar by minimizing the impact of string tension on the intonation adjustment screws.

How does the Sigma TM-12 preamp and tuner system differ from other guitar electronics in terms of signal processing and noise reduction technology?

The Sigma TM-12 preamp and tuner system stands out from other guitar electronics due to its advanced signal processing and innovative noise reduction technology. Unlike traditional preamps that simply boost the weak signals picked up by a guitar, the TM-12 incorporates a unique Class A discrete buffer circuitry that preserves the natural tone and character of the instrument while delivering exceptional clarity, definition, and headroom. Moreover, it features a proprietary noise reduction system called Quiet Tune, which utilizes sophisticated algorithms to eliminate unwanted noise and hum without compromising the signal integrity or dynamic range of the guitar. This makes the Sigma TM-12 an ideal choice for players who demand exceptional sound quality, reliability, and versatility in their guitars' electronics.

How does the SIGMA TM-12 acoustic guitar's unique bracing pattern contribute to its exceptional tonal projection and balance?

The SIGMA TM-12 acoustic guitar features a proprietary bracing pattern called X-Bracing Plus. This innovative design reinforces the top board of the guitar, which results in exceptional tonal projection and balance. The X-bracing provides a stronger structural support to the top plate, allowing it to vibrate more freely and producing a louder and more balanced sound. Additionally, the plus sign added to the X-bracing pattern helps to disperse tension evenly across the top board, further enhancing the tonal balance and projection of this guitar. Overall, the unique bracing pattern of the SIGMA TM-12 contributes significantly to its exceptional tonal qualities, making it an excellent choice for acoustic guitarists who demand both volume and clarity in their music.

How does the SIGMA TM-12 pickup system enhance acoustic guitar tone and projection for live performances?

The SIGMA TM-12 pickup system is specifically designed to enhance the natural acoustic tone and projection of a guitar during live performances. This system uses advanced signal processing technology to capture every nuance and detail of your playing, resulting in a richer, more vibrant sound that can be heard clearly even in large venues. The TM-12 also features an innovative feedback suppression system that helps prevent unwanted howling and squealing, making it ideal for high-volume gigs where acoustic feedback can be a problem. Overall, the SIGMA TM-12 is a game-changing pickup system that will transform the way you play your guitar on stage.
