Description

The Yamaha CG122MS acoustic guitar is a great option for beginners and intermediate guitar players alike. It offers a warm and full sound, comfortability in playing, and durability.

The body of the CG122MS is made of solid Engelmann spruce that helps the guitar produce a clear and robust sound. The top of the guitar is supported by a scalloped bracing, which maximizes the guitar’s resonance and sustain. The back and sides of the guitar are made of Nato wood, which is a lightweight and durable material. The combination of these woods helps in producing an excellent overall sound.

In terms of playability, the Yamaha CG122MS guitar has a slightly thinner neck compared to other classical guitars, making it more comfortable for beginners to grip and play. The fingerboard and bridge are both made of rosewood, which adds to the premium feel of the guitar. The guitar also features a matte finish that helps in reducing unwanted reflections that can be distracting while playing.

Another advantage of the Yamaha CG122MS is its durability. The materials used in building the guitar are of high quality and can withstand daily use. Additionally, the guitar has a decent setup and tuning right out of the box, so you don’t have to spend lots of time or money adjusting the guitar.

Overall, the Yamaha CG122MS acoustic guitar is an excellent choice for those who want an affordable yet high-quality guitar that offers comfort, durability, and a warm sound. With its superb quality and affordability, learning and playing the guitar has never been this easy and enjoyable. 1 review for Yamaha CG122MS

I recently had the pleasure of playing the Yamaha CG122MS acoustic guitar and I must say, I’m quite impressed. As an avid guitar enthusiast and player, I’ve played my fair share of guitars from various brands, and Yamaha has always been a brand that has caught my attention.

The CG122MS model is a classical guitar that features a solid Engelmann spruce top, nato back, sides, and neck, and rosewood fingerboard and bridge. The MS in the model name stands for Matte/Satin finish, which gives the guitar an elegant and understated look.

One unique feature of the CG122MS is its No Cutaway Cutaway design. Essentially, it has the look of a traditional classical guitar, but with a cutaway that provides better access to the higher frets. This is a great feature for those who want the full-bodied sound of a classical guitar, but with added flexibility to play more complex pieces that require higher fret access.

I really enjoyed the warm and balanced sound of the CG122MS. The solid spruce top provided clarity and projection, while the nato body and rosewood fingerboard and bridge gave the guitar a rich and warm tone. It’s definitely a guitar that can hold its own in a room full of people, whether playing a solo piece or accompanying a singer.

Compared to other classical guitar models I’ve played, such as the Cordoba C3M and the La Patrie Etude, I would say that the Yamaha CG122MS can definitely hold its own. While the Cordoba had a brighter sound and the La Patrie had a more mellow sound, the Yamaha had a nice balance of both. It’s also worth noting that the Yamaha is a bit more affordable than either of those models.

Overall, I would give the Yamaha CG122MS a solid 4 stars out of 5. It’s a well-built guitar with a beautiful design and a warm and balanced sound. And as someone who has played guitars from various brands, I can say that Yamaha is definitely a brand to keep an eye on.
