Description
The Korg multi/poly is a polyphonic analog modeling synthesizer built for players who want deep sound design without giving up the feel of a real instrument. Four oscillators sit in every program alongside a dedicated noise source, and up to 60 voices of polyphony mean dense chords, long release tails and layered textures hold together instead of cutting off early. The 37 full-size semi-weighted keys respond to velocity and release velocity, so expression follows your touch from the first note.
Sound shaping goes well beyond a single character. Each oscillator can run as a Classic analog-style model, a Digital Wavetable, or a Waveshaper, and Cross-Mod and Sync open up harder, more aggressive tones. Per voice you get dual modeled vintage filters, with types covering M/Poly, Mini, Pro, Ladder, SEM, MS-20 and Linear, so you can move between smooth, round filtering and raw, driven bite inside one patch. Noise is available too, adding air, percussion and texture.
Motion Sequencing 2.0 and the arpeggiator run across four layers, and Kaoss Physics lets you shape movement and performance in real time. Connectivity covers MIDI In and Out, USB-B, balanced 1/4-inch left and right outputs, a damper input and a headphone out, so it fits a studio desk and a stage rig equally well.
This suits synthesists who want one instrument that can cover warm vintage-style pads, crisp digital wavetable leads and animated sequenced parts. Compared with other polysynths in its class, which often commit you to one filter flavour or a narrower oscillator set, multi/poly is the broader option. Where a simpler synth asks you to work within its character, this one asks you to choose it yourself.
