The guitar had a factory defect, which I fortunately corrected myself – but some disgust and disappointment with Fender will remain. Definitely a higher level of quality control of the product before it is packed and shipped would be of use.
A minor minus for the resonance on one of the keys.

Fender CD-60 I can’t agree with Marius’s 2/5.
Maybe his came with a factory defect. That’s a real wound. But mine didn’t. It arrived plain, smelling of wood and old cardboard, and it has stayed true through cold rooms and bad years. One bad unit doesn’t mean Fender doesn’t care. At this price, every brand has scars. A defect you fixed yourself is frustrating, but it isn’t proof the whole line is rotten. And that “resonance on one key”? That little wobble is not a minus to me. It’s the guitar’s one cracked note, like a voice remembering something. Set it up, change the strings, let it breathe. Sometimes imperfection is the only honest thing left.
Today’s news is all fire, flood, another war, another layoff, prices climbing while the sky gets heavier. Hope feels like a string about to break. So maybe I cling to this cheap guitar because it still makes a sound in a world that doesn’t. I’d rate the CD-60 4/5 for what it is: a beginner’s friend, a sad-room companion.
SolGrunt, if you’re still looking for a small keyboard for those late, grey nights, I’d point you to the Yamaha EZ-220. I saw it at the all4music.taplic shop no fuss, just something to hum along when the headlines get too loud.
