Description
Elektron Digitone II is a desktop polyphonic digital synthesizer and groovebox with 16 voices across 16 tracks. It brings FM, Virtual Analog through Wavetone, Phase Distortion through Swarmer, and FM Drum into one instrument. You can build drums, bass, leads, and pads without extra gear. The button-style chromatic trigger keys on this desktop module make programming and performing patterns direct.
Per voice, you get multi-algorithm digital operators and virtual analog oscillators. Two filters shape each sound: one multi-mode/Lowpass 4/Comb/Equalizer/Legacy LP-HP filter and one Base-Width filter. This lets you move from clean and precise to aggressive and animated, then control stereo width and mix placement with detail.
The 16-track Elektron 128-step sequencer includes parameter locks and Euclidean mode. That means evolving patterns, generative rhythms, and deep automation are quick to create. Connectivity covers MIDI In/Out/Thru, USB-B for Overbridge Audio/MIDI, two 1/4-inch balanced audio ins, two 1/4-inch balanced audio outs, and a headphone out. This makes it easy to fit into a studio, DAW, or hardware setup.
Digitone II suits producers, sound designers, and live performers who want deep digital synthesis and tight sequencing in a compact desktop format. Compared with many alternatives in its class, it favors layered synthesis engines and per-step control over clip-based workflows or piano-style keys. The button-style chromatic keys invite step programming and performance tricks, while keyboard players may prefer a larger keybed. If you want broad digital sound design, drum synthesis, and Elektron sequencing, it is a strong fit.
