Description

The Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 electric guitar is a tribute to the iconic Les Paul guitar that has been a staple in the music industry for over six decades. Released by Gibson in 2019, this guitar combines vintage design with modern functionality, resulting in a versatile and powerful instrument that can meet the needs of any musician.

One of the most appealing features of the Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 is its classic design. The guitar has a mahogany body, a maple top, and a slim-tapered mahogany neck, which are all materials that have been used in Les Paul guitars for years. The combination of these materials creates a warm, rich tone that is perfect for a wide range of musical genres.

At the heart of the Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 are two Burstbucker pickups. These pickups are modeled after the original PAF (Patent Applied For) pickups that were used in the first Les Paul guitars. The Burstbuckers are known for producing a warm, vintage tone that is perfect for blues, rock, and jazz. However, with the addition of coil-splitting, the guitar can also produce a bright, single-coil sound, which is ideal for funk, pop, and country.

The Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 also features a number of modern upgrades. The guitar has a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with acrylic trapezoid inlays, which makes it easy to play complex chord progressions and solos. The guitar also has a traditional Les Paul control layout, with separate volume and tone controls for each pickup, as well as a three-way toggle switch that allows players to switch between the pickups.

Another modern feature of the Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 is its tuning stability. The guitar has a set of Grover Rotomatic tuners, which are some of the most reliable tuners on the market. These tuners make it easy for players to stay in tune, even when playing aggressive bends and vibrato.

Overall, the Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 is a versatile and powerful guitar that can meet the needs of any musician. Its classic design, combined with modern upgrades, make it a great choice for players who want a vintage sound with modern functionality. With its warm tone, comfortable playability, and reliable tuning stability, this guitar is a great investment for any musician who wants to take their playing to the next level.

1 review for Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019

  1. Knox Lambert

As someone who loves music, I recently decided to invest in an electric guitar. After much research, I settled on the Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019. I was drawn to its Fireburst/Colourburst colour and the fact that it is a well-known and respected electric guitar brand.

While the sound of the guitar is undeniably good, I have to say that I have had some issues with it. Firstly, the guitar strings were extremely difficult to install and required a lot of effort on my part. Secondly, the guitar doesn’t seem to be as durable as I thought it would be. After only a few months of use, I experienced a few issues with the pickups. I’m not sure if this is a universal issue with this model, or if it’s just bad luck on my part.

When compared to other electric guitars I have played, it definitely has a unique sound that I enjoy. However, it’s hard to justify the cost when considering its durability issues.

As far as delivery goes, I bought the guitar in March and it arrived in Riverside promptly. The packaging was adequate, and the guitar arrived in good condition. Overall, while I appreciate the Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019’s sound, I think the durability issues are worth considering before making an investment.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What are the recommended settings for my Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019's pickups and electronics?

As a guitarist, I can recommend a few general settings for your Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019's pickups and electronics based on standard Gibson Les Paul wiring. However, it's essential to know that you might want to adjust these settings according to your personal taste or the music genre you play.

The Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 has two humbucker pickups, a neck pickup (humbucker in the neck position) and a bridge pickup (humbucker at the bridge position). It also features a 3-way toggle switch for selecting the pickups' combination and separate volume and tone controls.

Here are some recommended settings to start with:

1. Neck Pickup (Position 1): This setting provides a warm, rounded tone suitable for playing jazz, blues, or softer rock. You can further adjust the tone by using the tone knob located on the pickguard. Turning it clockwise will make the sound brighter, while turning it counterclockwise will give you a darker tone.

2. Bridge Pickup (Position 2): This setting offers a bright and clear sound that works well for playing rock, country, or blues with more aggressive riffs. Again, use the tone knob to tweak the sound according to your preference.

3. Both Pickups Combined (Position 3): When you engage both pickups simultaneously, you get a balanced combination of the neck and bridge pickup tones. This setting is perfect for playing rhythm parts or solos that require a versatile tone.

4. Adjusting Volume: The volume knob can be used to control the overall output level of your guitar. Turn it clockwise to increase the volume, and turn it counterclockwise to reduce it. Remember that turning down the volume will also affect the pickups' balance when using positions 2 or 3.

5. Adjusting Tone: The tone knob can help you shape the sound of your guitar by rolling off some high frequencies. Turn it clockwise for a brighter tone and counterclockwise for a darker one. Keep in mind that the tone knob affects both pickups when using positions 2 or 3, so you might want to balance them according to your taste.

Remember that these settings are just a starting point. Experimenting with different combinations of pickup selection and tone shaping will help you find the perfect sound for your playing style and music genre.

What is the difference between a Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 and a standard Gibson Les Paul in terms of construction materials and components?

The Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 and a standard Gibson Les Paul have some differences in their construction materials and components. Here are the main differences between the two models:
1. Body wood: While both guitars feature a solid mahogany body, the Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 has a lighter weight mahogany body compared to the standard Gibson Les Paul. This difference in wood density contributes to the slightly lighter weight of the Studio Tribute model.
2. Top wood: The Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 comes with a Maple top with a satin finish, while the standard Gibson Les Paul has a gloss finish on its Maple top. This difference in finish gives the two models different visual appearances and may also affect the tone to some extent.
3. Pickups: The Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 comes equipped with Alnico Classic humbuckers, which are more affordable and less powerful than the BurstBucker Pro pickups found on the standard Gibson Les Paul. This means that the sound of the two guitars will be different due to the difference in pickup design.
4. Fretboard material: The fretboard of the Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 is made of Rosewood, while the standard Gibson Les Paul comes with a Pau Ferro or Ebony fretboard depending on the specific model and year. This difference in wood may affect the tone and playability of the two guitars slightly.
5. Hardware: The Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 has a tune-o-matic bridge with a stopbar tailpiece, while the standard Gibson Les Paul comes with a tune-o-matic bridge with separate saddles for each string. This difference in design may affect the intonation and playability of the two guitars slightly.
Overall, the main differences between the Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 and a standard Gibson Les Paul lie in their body wood, top wood, pickups, fretboard material, and hardware design. These differences affect both the visual appearance and the sound of the two guitars.

How does the humbucker pickup configuration of the Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribute 2019 differ from that of its standard counterpart?

The Gibson Les Paul Studio Tribe 2019 features a unique humbucker pickup configuration compared to its standard counterpart. While the standard model typically has two traditional Alnico II magnets in both bridge and neck positions, the Tribute edition switches out the bridge magnet for an Alnico V unit. This change results in a slightly brighter and more articulate sound from the bridge position, while still maintaining the rich and warm tone that Gibson humbuckers are known for.
